USA-s Marylandi osariigis tegutsev mittetulunduslik Estonian-Revelia Academic Fund, Inc. (ERAF) annab Eesti Vabariigi ja välismaa ülikoolide päevases õppevormis täiskoormusega õppivatele edukatele bakalaureuse- ja magistriõppe üliõpilastele 2010./2011. õppeaastaks välja stipendiume väärtusega 1500 USD. NB! Global Telehealth 2010

Scholarship from the Institute of Human Studies

Scholarships up to $15,000 for graduate or undergraduate study.

IHS considers applications from those who will be full-time graduate students, including law and journalism students, or undergraduate juniors or seniors during the 2011-12 academic year and who have a clearly demonstrated research interest in the intellectual and institutional foundations of a free society.

WoHIT 2011 Conference & Exhibition Launches Call for Papers

Siemens Wins 132 million Euro Contract for Medical Technology in Spain

The Ministry of Health of the Spanish region of Murcia has placed an order worth 132 million Euros to Siemens Healthcare for medical technology, service and financing. Within the framework of a public private partnership, Siemens will provide two hospitals in the region with more than 100 imaging systems, including computed tomography scanners, mammography systems, and ultrasound systems. Siemens ensures that the hospitals work with state-of-the-art technology for the next 15 years. This includes both maintenance and an innovation guarantee: The systems will be replaced in predefined intervals with the newest model of the respective product line. Siemens Financial Services developed the financing solution for the initial equipment and for the regular technological replacements.

Business Models for eHealth - Final Report

This report presents the analysis of a study funded by the ICT for Health Unit to explore business models for the implementation of value-creating and sustainable eHealth systems in Europe. It also introduces a set of policy recommendations for the European Commission and other stakeholders, with the ultimate objectives being: a) the improvement of the overall quality and efficiency of provision of health services in general via eHealth services, taking into consideration the present and future socio-economic and financial challenges faced by national healthcare authorities in Europe; b) the consolidation of eHealth services as a mature market where European industry can play a leading role via the provision of innovative technological and organisational solutions.

Kristjan Jaak's Mobility Scholarship

The deadline for Kristjan Jaak's Mobility Scholarship is the 1st of June 2010. The Scholarship is covering students short-time study related mobility costs to participate in conferences, working in libraries and laboratories, working on your thesis with the mentor, additional training, and consultations. The event should be from 3 days up to 21 days in a foreign country. 

Scholarship for a Female Athlete

Lynn University is seeking a 2010 graduate or transfer student to compete as a middle blocker on the volleyball team. Interested players should have experience at an elite level and meet the minimum admissions/eligibility standards (2.5 GPA and 820 SAT). The university has a full athletic scholarship to offer.

Next Fulbright Scholarship for the Graduate Student Program

The US Embassy is Estonia is announcing the Fulbright Graduate Student Program competition in the United States for the 2011-2012 academic year. Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds. 

The Fulbright Graduate Student Program offers one-year grants for Estonians who intend to enter graduate degree programs (Master's, Doctoral) at US universities in any field except medical studies.

Lecture: eHealth Related Theories on 5th of May 2010

Professor of Informatics Nina Lundberg from Karolinska Institute will hold a seminar on eHealth Related Theories on 5th of May 2010 in Tallinn University of Technology, invited by the Institute of Clinical Medicine. Summer Camp in Seville - Future eHealth Leaders

In the WoHIT2010 Barcelona Conference I met Mats Larson, CEO of Carelink - a Swedish public IT in healthcare company who introduced me to this event taking place in Seville from 16th to 19th of June this year. It is a combination of workshops, networking, training and enhancing skills. If you are interested in applying, the deadline is 1st of May. The cost of the Summer Camp is €600 + travel & accommodation.

Open Day at TUT

TUT will hold an Open Day on the 22nd of March. Everyone who is interested in studying or research in TUT are more than welcome. The programs are presented in the university main Hall from noon until 6pm.  Additionally there are lectures and some entertainment. Health Care Technology will be in the Natural Science booth. See you there.

Eesti Üliõpilaste Seltsi Sihtasutus kuulutab vil! Udo Mällo fondist välja stipendiumikonkursi, millele saab konkureeridaiga Eesti avalik-õigusliku ülikooli magistriõppe, bakalaureuse- ja magistriõppe integreeritud õppekava ning doktoriõppe õppekaval õppiv üliõpilane, kes esitab konkursil osalemiseks nägemuse, kuidas kavatseb oma õpinguid kasutada Eesti riigi ja rahva hüvanguks.

Health Care Technology is attending World of Health IT Conference and Exhibition

In March WoHIT2010 (World of Health IT) in cooperation with European Union is organising an e-health conference and exhibition in Barcelona. The exhibition is focusing mainly on IT solutions for health care services by different companies and the presentations and lectures are covering the most urgent and relevant e-health subjects in Europe today. Health Care Technology (HCT) Master's programme is participating the conference as exhibitors with Estonian e-Health Foundation. HCT goal is to promote the Master's programme and find possible industry partners who are interested in offering Apprenticeships, Scholarships or to hold Guest Lectures to Health Care Technology students.

WoHIT 2010 will for the first time be held in conjunction with the European Union’s annual High Level eHealth Conference on 15-18 March 2010 in Barcelona, Spain. The objective is to create the largest European high level platform for stakeholders sharing the common goal of advancing eHealth in Europe.

Spring Semester 2010

Admission to Open University will start on 26th of January. If anyone is interested in Health Care Technology Master's programme but missed the Autumn Semester, it is possible to enroll now and later on transfer the subjects and points. But please keep in mind that the enrolment to Open University will finish on 16th of February, but the Health Care Technology Spring Semester starts from 1st of February.
